Supported File Types
βNote: Currently, this feature only supports .png and .pdf file formats. Support for additional file types is planned for future updates.
Configuration Settings
To configure the pricing logic, navigate to the Custom Price Calculation section and follow these steps:
1. Enable Feature
Enable custom price calculation: Check this box to activate the dynamic pricing logic. If unchecked, the system will not calculate prices based on file properties.
2. Unit Settings
Define how the system measures the file to determine the cost.
Unit Type: Select the metric used for calculation from the dropdown menu.
Inch Height: Calculates price based on the vertical height of the image in inches.
Inch Square: Calculates price based on the total area (square inches) of the image.
Centimeter Height: Calculates price based on the vertical height of the image in centimeters.
Centimeter Square: Calculates price based on the total area (square centimeters) of the image.
Pixel Height: Calculates price based on the vertical pixel count of the image.
Pixel Square: Calculates price based on the total pixel area ("width" X "height").
PDF Page Count: Calculates price based on the number of pages in the uploaded PDF file.
π DTF Merchants will love this!
β
The Inch Height and Inch Square options are game-changers for Direct-to-Film printing businesses. These settings make selling "gang sheets" effortless by automatically calculating the exact cost based on the artwork's dimensions, so you never undercharge for film usage again.
Unit Price: Enter the cost per single unit.
Example: If you select "Inch Height" and enter
$0.5, a file that is 10 inches tall will cost $5.00 (10" X $0.5).
3. Pricing Limits
Minimum File Price: Set the lowest possible amount to be charged, regardless of the calculation result.
If the calculated price (Unit $\times$ Price) is lower than this value, the system will charge the Minimum File Price instead.
Example: If the calculated cost is $2.00 but the Minimum File Price is set to $5.00, the customer will be charged $5.00. Set to
$0if there is no minimum.
4. Content Type Restriction
β οΈ Important Configuration Requirement
You must enable "Content Type Restriction" When using Custom Price Calculation, it is mandatory to also enable the Content Type Restriction setting. Since the calculation engine currently supports only .png and .pdf files, you must restrict uploads to these formats.
Example Use Cases
Scenario | Recommended Unit Type | Configuration |
Document Printing | PDF Page Count | Set Unit Price to the cost per page (e.g., $0.10). |
DTF/Canvas/Banner Printing | Inch Square / Centimeter Square | Set Unit Price to the cost per square area of material. |
Ribbon/Fabric Printing | Inch Height / Centimeter Height | Set Unit Price to the cost per linear length. |
The Customer Experience
Once configured, your customers will enjoy a seamless and transparent ordering process. Here is how the interface behaves on the product page:
1. Instant Visual Feedback
As soon as a customer drops their design into the upload zone, the system analyzes the file in real-time. The interface immediately displays the exact detected dimensions (e.g., 11.43" x 16.27") alongside the file size, giving the customer confirmation that their file is ready for print.
2. Transparent Pricing Logic
Trust is key to conversion. Next to the calculated price, a small question mark icon (?) appears. When a customer hovers over this icon, a tooltip reveals the exact formula used to determine the cost. This transparency eliminates confusion and helps customers understand exactly what they are paying for.
3. Effortless Quantity Adjustment
If a customer needs multiple prints of the same design (e.g., 5 copies of the same logo), they don't need to re-upload the file. They can simply increase the quantity counter located directly inside the upload card. The total price updates instantly to reflect the bulk order.
